Ponderosa Barn is comprised of a community of people who enjoy live music in an intimate, up-close environment. We agree to be responsible, respectful and to behave in a manner that is socially acceptable and at all times legal. People who join this group and are accepted into membership agree to hold Ponderosa Barn LLC, its holdings, proprietors and owners completely harmless and blameless in all circumstances on and off the property. Ponderosa Barn LLC is a non-commercial, not for profit private residence that occasionally hosts musical gatherings for the enjoyment of its members. Charity events and fundraisers as well as musical performances for the benefit of the musical community may be held. ARTIST/BAND CRITERIA - What Are We Looking For?
Ponderosa Barn is a unique venue in that it is non-commercial and almost exclusively member supported. All proceeds derived from ticket sales go directly to bringing quality artist(s) and musician(s) here. We are BYOB and sell no food, drinks, or alcohol. It is our home so it’s essentially a “House Concert on Steroids”! We endeavor to curate unique events & shows that cannot be seen elsewhere (or within 60 miles).
The barn lends itself to a special presentation and great care and attention is paid to every detail to ensure a quality experience.
What we normally look for are artists/bands that meet the following criteria:
• Original Bands of between 4-8 members (prefer regional to national)
• Capable of doing a two hour show of original material
• High Quality Select Tribute Bands are considered (2-3 per year)
• No opening act or band changeover
• Live Players/Singers – No Tracks or Pre-Recorded Material
• Good Promo Material including website & merchandise
• Social Media Presence: Facebook, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc.
• Willing to use House System & Backline including:
• House PA, Drums, Bass Rig, and Guitar Amps if possible
We have a wide musical palette so genres can range from Pop, Rock, Folk, & Soul to Jazz, Funk, R&B and Country. Our membership has expressed a preference for upbeat groups with strong vocal components. With so few slots available, it means the selection process is hard and competitive. We have a committee of 5 and a focus group of 20 that review inquiries submitted. We often say no to very talented acts, including good friends of ours.
